WEBSTORE   POLICIES 

Our aim is to see that your experience with Tay Valley Systems is a positive one. To that end we will do everything in our power to ensure your satisfaction. Here are our terms of reference.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL 

RETURNS/REFUNDS

RMA required- ALL returns REQUIRE an RMA (Returned Mechandise Authorization) code. Shipments without one will be refused. PLEASE contact us for authorization and return shipping instructions. Refunds/replacements are processed immediately on receipt of the defective product 

Shipping costs- Shipping costs are NOT refundable except for errors on our part or on defective mechandise. We cover costs for shipping the replacement product to you. (i.e. you pay one way) 

New  & "aOK - Verified by TVS" - In the rare event you receive a defective product, a refund OR replacement (at our option) will be provided if we receive notification of a defect within 7 days of delivery that the item is DOA (dead on arrival). 

Used/Surplus- These products are usually sold AS IS and are not returnable unless they are DOA (dead on arrival). However there are exceptions.  See Warranties (below) and the item text for details.

Software returns- Licensing and copyright restrictions prevent us from accepting returns on opened software packages. In the event you receive defective software, it will be replaced with an identical title and version number. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY.

Memory- Except for defective product (which must be reported to us within 7 days) memory upgrades are not returnable. Please ensure that you order the correct product for your computer as we cannot accept returns because of incompatibility. Help in finding the correct upgrade is available from our sales department prior to purchase.

WARRANTIES

We strive to provide the latest information available about our products and services and how they will impact on you and your equipment. However, because there are so many variables to consider at the customer's end (hardware type, software, operating system, accessories, peripherals, et al) there is no warranty or promise regarding suitability or compatibility with any hardware or software

New - Manufacturer's warranty applies.

aOK - Verified by TVS - Most of these products are pulls from used computer systems. The components are cleaned and tested by qualified technicians (we actually put them in a system and get them up and running) before they are shipped. A defective item bearing this designation will be replaced or a refund issued (at our option) for a period of 30 days from date of delivery.

Used/Surplus- Unfortunately, because of the nature of some previously used components warranty these products are usually sold AS IS. Exceptions to this policy will be noted in the text of the description of the product. Please read it carefully as it is your guide you in determining what (if any) warranty is associated with this category of products. 

SUPPORT

Support for ALL products - We will attempt to help you find suitable drivers or resolve technical issues within 14 days of delivery (or for the life of the parts and labour warranty if you purchase a system built by Tay Valley Systems). Please contact our service department at service@tayvalley.com by e-mail. Include your invoice number, purchase date, the make & model number of the component and a description of the problem to ensure a prompt reply. Other pertinent data includes the details  about your system including processor, memory, operating system and other installed hardware.

SHIPPING

Shipping costs (original order) -  are not included in the published prices on this website and are extra. We do not charge for packaging, handling, etc. We pass on the exact costs (to the nearest dollar) levied by the post office or the courier.

Shipping costs (warranty) return to depot costs are paid by you. We cover the cost of sending the repaired product back.

Insurance - We always purchase insurance from the carrier (it's included in your shipping costs) unless you choose to accept responsibility for any damage in transit. However, the savings are minimal at best and opting out is NOT ADVISED.

Damage/lost in transit - any problems MUST be reported to the carrier on receipt. PLEASE check your package carefully when it arrives. Claims are filed by the recipient of a package. Please advise us of any issues as soon a possible so we can assist you if necessary. 

WEBSTORE DEFINITIONS

New - New product (in retail box or factory sealed if OEM product)  

aOK - Verified by TVS- Most used components are cleaned and tested by qualified technicians (we actually put them in a system and get them up and running before they are shipped). While it would be foolish to suggest no-one will ever have a problem with a component, this is your assurance that these aren't just untested "pulls" from a system. Look for the stamp of approval on the component when you receive it.  aOK - Verified by TVS products carry a 30 day warranty.

Surplus/Used - These may be either new or used products. Sometimes its new product and the packaging is merely shopworn. Others may be missing driver disks, cables, etc. The product description will provide more details.

Miscellaneous - Anything that doesn't fit in the other categories.
